One example of a principal-agent model that tends to be more like a triangle rather than the standard principal agent model would be recruiters and recruiting companies more generally. As the job market has continued to grow new sectors have arisen, more example the exposure of recruiters in the job marketing community. It is the role of the recruiter to find a suitable candidate for the company, and it is also the role of many recruiters, from recruiting companies, to help individuals find a placement.  Two summers ago I interned at the JUF in Chicago in the Information Technology Department for the Chicago office. This past summer I worked for a Risk and Compliance, data and software company. The company had about 15 summer interns, including myself, and part of the summer internship program included a group project. The group project was assigned and presented equally to the entire group of interns, and it was left up to us, as interns, to divide the work and complete the assigned task at hand. The group project included making new elements for the companies online platform, and also creating to external videos for the company; one video on company culture and the other on the internship program. Over the past summers, and during my time on campus I have tried my best to immerse myself in a variety of different experiences that would potentially help me obtain a job after graduation. During my freshman year on campus I had the opportunity to get involved with the Student Advocacy Coalition. Freshman year I was taking PS 101, an introductory level course within the Political Science department, my second major. During lecture one day, we had a speaker from the Student Advocacy Coalition speak with our class recruiting students for lobby day, which took place in Springfield. My classmate and I decided the opportunity sounded interesting and we signed up to attended the lobby day. After the lobby day in Springfield, organized by the Student Advocacy Coalition, we enjoyed ourselves and found the opportunity with the Student Advocacy Coalition to be very unique, given the fact that members of the organization had the opportunity to form connections with both elected officials in Sp

As soon as I turned 16 years, once I was old enough to get a job, I started working for the Deerfield Park District. Growing up I was year round competitive swimmer so it was natural of me to assume the position of being a swim instructor and lifeguard at my local community pool. The majority of the staff at the pool was young kids, middle school to college age students. While the job was to importance of the employees working there, as kids, things come up and individuals had various other obligations besides working at the pool. The pool was run through the Park District, under one full time employee. The pool then had several managers, who tended to be upper-level high schoolers or college students. Since it was a large group of staff, compared to the few amount of managers, there was some sort of disciplinary protocol in place. I think a team production with a gift exchange element could be something as follows. Two people are presented with two boxes. Each person gets to choose a box, and each box contains a different amount of cookies. The amount of cookies in the boxes varies, and the two boxes do not  necessary  contain the same amount of cookies. It would then be up to the two people to decide if they keep the cookies in the box they chose, or if they open the two boxes together and divide the cookies evenly. This is related to the first reading in that two children were pulling a rope and would each  receive  a certain amount of marbles. It was then up to the children to decide if they keep the unequal  destitution  of the marbles, or if they decided to equalize the  distribution  amongst  the two of them. This is also related to the idea in the second reading, “When a child thinks life is unfair use game theory”, where the author expresses that people in  evolved  want things to be fair. Are the themes from one post that tie into other posts? if so, what are those connections? In the second and third post, the connection of various costs can be made. In the second blog post, we focused on transaction costs that occur, while in the third post we focused on working on various teams. I think it is interesting to consider that there may also be transaction costs when working with a team. I think it would be interesting to further work to understand the various transaction costs that are faced by teams, or the various transaction costs within a given team. Both the second and third blog post focuses on teams and organizations and although there may be a distinction between a given team versus an organization, I believe it is relevant to note the similarities between the two functions. On-campus there are various things that the administration could incentivize students to use their “Illinibucks” on, if they were to implement them in a variety of different ways. For example, as stated in the prompt, I believe that students would be willing to pay for and use Illinibucks to register for classes earlier than their time assigned. Most students have value towards what classes they want to take, and at a school the size of the University of Illinois, it is sometimes harder to get into a particular class that an individual would prefer to take. I also think students would utilize this function of Illinibucks to change their schedules. During the first ten days of the semester, currently, students are allowed to add or drop classes freely and I think during this time students would attempt to utilize Illinibucks as by this time many classes are full, and only a few spots will potentially open up.
